2. MenuGen — Karpathy’s menu-to-pictures app
The man who named vibe coding also stress-tested it. Here the steal is niche naming. Not “sports team management platform.” Youth coaches. Lineups. Schedules. The copy names its user so precisely that the right person recognizes themselves in five words. Vague positioning is the most common failure we see in DIY builds, and it’s free to fix: write for one specific person having one specific bad Tuesday.
7. DOOM CAPTCHA — prove you’re human by playing DOOM
Guillermo Rauch, Vercel’s CEO, spent holiday downtime building a CAPTCHA where you verify your humanity by killing three enemies in DOOM on nightmare difficulty. He built the interface with v0, his company’s own AI builder, per TechSpot’s writeup. It’s a joke with production-grade execution, and it went everywhere for a week.
